Mid Winter / Christmas Dinner

This year we are having our Christmas Dinner / Social / Quiz at The Baskerville in Shiplake on Thursday 5th December (NOT 12th as previously planned).

Charles is coordinating our booking and to date has around a dozen positive responses.

If dithering - please get your response in promptly to Charles - it will be good to have as many there as possible!

One reason for having Dinner at The Baskerville is to assess its suitability as our future Fly-tying venue.

AGM on Thu 2nd January 2025

Will be brief - see recent email from our Secretary for the details.

FDG National Fly-Tying Competition

It would be great if we all entered the Open Trout category submitting The Carson. (Submit to FDG Secretary by Sat 29th March 2025 - so plenty of time!)

Peter has a supply of all the materials required to share with anyone who needs anything.  Please ask if you would like to see or have anything.

We could spend the evening after the AGM on 02 January learning to tie this fly and sort out any problems.

Reservoir Fishing

Farmoor is open and is fishing very well - John and Peter landed 20 and lost at least another 20 last week.  They were deep down chasing fry.

BFFI (British Fly Fair International)

At Staffordshire County Showground, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0BD on Sat 8th / Sun 9th Feb 09:30 - 16:00.

Well worth the effort to make a visit and watch the expert fly-tyers if you have not been before.
