Fly Tying Session Thursday 26th September 2024

Our next Fly-Tying session is at The Cherry Tree Inn, Stoke Row, on Thursday 26th September at 19:15 - 21:30.

This winter we are offering two different series of Fly Patterns & Techniques – Trout & Grayling flies, led by Geoff, and Sea Trout & Salmon flies, led by Peter.

Entirely up to you - join a group, tie your own flies for fishing, or just have a pint and a chat. Your choice, all are welcome.

Trout Fly Tyers

Geoff will lead tying a Sawyers Pheasant Tail Nymph (as 'October Fly')

Surrey FDG Auction

I have heard that the Surrey Branch is planning an auction of Fly Tying & Fishing items in October 2024, however there is no firm information on the date yet.  If anyone hears of any other auctions – please let me know, I have some surplus stuff to clear…

Fishing

As the weather cools Farmoor Reservoir has been fishing well and Catch & Release fishing is permitted again.

The good news is that Severn Trent Water is in negotiation with a new Fishery operator and Draycote Reservoir is likely to reopen next March…..
