The day dawned with a mild air and full of anticipation Alex Paul Richard, Leo and Richard made their way to The Test. Arriving at the river Richard B was out of the car like a whippet from a trap. Whilst the rest of us were still tackling up he was into a grayling. Proof that the early Bird catches the fish - sorry I could not resist that one. The morning continued with a steady catch rate and by lunchtime we had over 80 fish. It is worth pointing out that despite some anchovies there were plenty of big fish in the net too.

After lunch the wind picked up and there was a distinct chill in the air but the fish still co-operated. It was a day for the Czech nymph and bead head.

We ended the day with over 150 fish - a bumper catch. Richard B managed to only catch grayling so well done to him for selective fishing.
